Do you think 99% of health problems can go away by losing weight?I used to have horrible back pain and sore ankles and such. But I haven't felt hardly a twinge of pain since I lost 40 pounds.
I know there's research showing that losing weight helps heart disease, depression, diabetes, etc... but do you think it is better for ALL pains and illnesses? I think so.

I think the key is to exercise, not lose weight. I know plenty of skinny people who don't exercise and are miserable.

after losing nearly 50lbs, i feel completely different. i had high blood pressure, now gone. i was on cholesterhol meds and was at 285, has now dropped to 185 and i no longer take the meds. my hip was hurting, now no pain at all. i was struggling with ED and premature ejaculation, now back like i was when i was in my twenties. i dont think it is an answer for everything, but it is a good place to start when trying to take better care of yourself.

Being healthy in general. For some it means to lose fat (not weight, fat), for some it means to gain some muscle, for most it means working on cardio to get the blood flowing to help the flow of oxygen and get your immune system strong. A healthy diet goes a long way as well.

I believe so. I am a health science major in college and many courses studies link major ailments in the body to ones weight and dietary habits. Your weight is a reason why you find you have more energy and less pain than when you were 40 pounds heavier. The problem is, many people STILL fill certain voids by replacing food consumption with drugs, alcohol or cigarettes, even though they may LOOK physically well in shape and form. Their insides and their mental condition might be the pits. The music and entertainment industry come to mind.
