My father fell against his table and passed away in a sitting position by the table...he had about a 5 inch?tear of skin on his dorsal forearm from the impact.....he was on Warfarin, which makes him a hefty bleeder....however, the abrasion did not bleed, just a very small amount right on the skin.....his cause of death was hypertensive and arteriosclerotic heart disease and consequences thereof....but my family needs help understanding "how" he died.....I've heard if a cut doesn't bleed much that means that the heart has stopped before they fell....does this indicate a fast death? I want to know if there was abrupt medical intervention, if he could have been saved.....also, he did not die from the fall, that was a consequence of whatever happened with his heart....thank you.
He had an autopsy and died from heart disease, no stroke.....but I want to know if it was fast due to the abrasion not bleeding.....

i think ur father had a stroke then fell. the fall will not cause his death but the stroke will. did you or anybody call 911 when this things happened? did they do any ct scan of the head or mri? since he is on coumadin, he is prone to bleeding and might cause hemorrhagic stroke and can cause death.

It was fast enough that he fell against the table, cutting his arm. It was slow enough that he was able to catch himself and sit as opposed to just fall over. It was fast enough that he passed away sitting and wasn't able to contact anybody for help, or make any moves to go get help (in which case he would have been outstretched, not upright). It probably lasted a minute or so max.
Sorry for your loss, best wishes for you and your family.
