Can skinny guys eat lots of fatty food and not get heart disease?

Can skinny guys eat lots of fatty food and not get heart disease?I do little exercise and don't eat particularly healthy food. I eat quite a lot of chips, chocolates, pies, pizzas, ice-cream, etc. But I have a fast metabolism and around 8-9% body fat. I am 32 years old, 6ft-2 (187cm) and 141 lbs (64kgs) and am classified as underweight. I eat tons of food but never gain weight. My waist size has been the same since high school. Had my cholesterol measured a year ago and it was great.

I'm wondering if I can keep eating fatty foods? Does it mean that if I don't have much fat, then fat isn't collecting in my arteries. Or is it? Is it going to catch up with me one day?

Me too, I have very fast metabolism but we can still get heart disease. Less risk, but it's always a possibility.

You are 32. Despite your diet, I am not completely surprised that your cholesterol was still managing to be normal. You are still a young man.

Fat will continue to circulate within your blood--your metabolism prevents fat from landing on your waist and hips (YET) but you have a large volume of lipids floating around your blood stream. All these fat cells are just looking for a blood vessel to make friends with.

Skinny people also die of heart attacks and strokes due to narrowing of the arteries caused by cholesterol.

So eat a bit more sensibly.

Never believe that just because you are skinny and have a fast metabolism that you are safe from heart disease. Anything can happen to anybody, it doesn't matter about the risks or age or anything of that sort. Many other things that you must take into account are any history of heart disease in your family, the way you live your life whether it be stressful or not, how active you are, and your diet. Cholesterol count in your blood is just that, in your blood. You can't tell if there is a blood clot anywhere or narrowing of an artery or vein just by a blood test. More extensive tests have to be done before you are given the "you are in perfect health" diagnosis from your doctor. Start exercising because you are putting yourself at more risk for a major heart attack if you keep on eating the way you do. How is your blood pressure? It will catch up with you one day and it will bite you hard.
