Heart Disease: Does science prove smoking to be healthy?

Does science prove smoking to be healthy?http://www.livestrong.com/article/293509-the-kitava-diet/
This article states Swedish scientists investigated a population from Kitava island of whom 80% smoked daily, yet none did from cardiovascular disease. The only difference was they ate lots of health food. Doesn't this prove that diet, not smoking causes heart disease?

Answer by tyler schreiber
Smoking, by itself, has been proven to be not healthy, anything you do to negate the effects of smoking does not make smoking healthy.

It's like if you ate mcdonalds alot but exercised to work of the calories, it doesn't make mcdonalds healthy.

No I dont think so. Please, quit, if you smoke for the sake if those around you

Exactly the opposite. Only thing it proofs, that people from Kitava Island are not as affected by smoking as the sedately/obese Americans.
Peace.

My grandparents are 90 and 86 and have been smoking for over 65 years, with no signs of quitting. They are healthier then most non smokers in their 50's.
They never drank alcohol. They eat right, always have. They walked every day. That's how they got to live this long.
Only my gramps, and my mom have touched alcohol. My gramps died over 20 years ago. My mom may not be far behind.
