I think the most important thing to remember is that you cannot control anything another person does, only yourself. I knew two young people who killed themselves and I felt like somewhat of a mentor to them and I felt really upset that I was not able to help them. The only thing you can really do to help your friend is to see if he is willing to get help for himself. If not, then you need to do what's best for yourself and maybe not see him anymore, especially since he has proven himself to be a suicidal gun owner. I know you said he has no one, but that is not your fault and you are not responsible for him. And it may be hard to believe, but hurting yourself or threatening to hurt yourself can actually be a form of abuse directed towards the people who love you. Take care of yourself and be safe.ur in a very stressful situation. Just be supportive and hope for the best.be supportive and make sure he gets some quality help. Dont be quick to judge. Maybe, call the suicide prevention hotline to get a few ideas. He really needs to get a lot of help before they release him into regular life.
