i have osteoarthritis. can pain in shoulder blade be that or heart disease?i am 47 years old, african american, hypertensive and overweight.

Just in the shoulder blade? or does it extend to the shoulder and down the shoulder a bit? How about the back of the neck? I have something similar and spent a bit with the doctor. come to find out I had a pinched nerve on the other side the neck and it was easily treatable with mild muscle relaxers (Mydocalm) and occasional exercise. Just turning the head slowly in each direction and tipping the head back and then down all in very slow motion and getting the most flexibility possible. It took about a week and it went away. I can feel it starting to creep up once in awhile and I just do the exercise's for a couple of days and its fine.
but if your pain is really isolated to the shoulder blade..... better check with the doctor. I don't have enough info for you.
