Heart Disease/Heart Attack??

Heart Disease/Heart Attack??i read that a symptom of heart disease/attack is like arms hurt and neck hurts and yea, my question is do they mean it hurts on its own or like when u press it it only hurts and how does it feel like

p.s. also what is indigestion please answer all these questions

A heart attack normally presents as "crushing" chest pain which may radiate up to the left shoulder and down the left arm. The arm has no somatic innervation so it cannot feel pain per se. However it does transmit a different form of pain through the same nerves that take arm pain through to the brain. This pain is one that hurts on its own.

Indigestion is also known as acid reflux. It occurs when stomach acid splashes up into the esophagus. This can occur when the muscle that is supposed to prevent this is weakened or if the reflux occurs so often that the low esophagus is damaged. A stomach ulcer could also cause stomach pain associated with eating as well.

I hope this helps

My husband had a heart attack at age 43. With his he felt was really bad heart burn or indgestion (A burning sensation) so I went to the pharmacist and asked what they had strong for heart burn. They asked me if I was sure that he wasn't having a heart attack. I said no, he just feels like he had really bad heart burn. Because of his age, I really didn't associate it with a heart attack!!! We had a Dr. appt. the next day. He was just really weak in the arms and tired. They determined that he had a heart attack and he was immediately scheduled for angioplasty.
Everyone experiences different symptoms. For some it is in the arms and neck and it would be perhaps more of an inside feel than it would be something to touch to cause pain.(Even women are different than men)so what ever you do, don't wait like we did! I could have very well lost him.

It hurts on its own. However, it is not the nexk that hurts but rather a pain that goes up the left arm , through the shoulder and into the jaw.
indigestion is more of a burning sensation and affects a larger area - daft as it sounds.

When a person has a heart attack he/she usually suddenly develops a very severe CENTRAL (not on left) chest pain which feels like a vice or a clamp around the chest. It may or may not spread to the arms or back. It can occasionally be on the abdomen (tummy) rather than on the chest. It may be accompanied by dizziness or vomiting or weakness, or even a blackout due to reduced blood flow to the brain.

It hurts on its own ie it is not tenderness meaning only when you press it. If it hurts when you press it, it is more likely to be muscle (myalgia) or bone (ostealgia) pain OR a condition called Tietze's syndrome where the junctions between bones and cartilage of the ribs are inflamed.

Indigestion is a layman's term describing stomach upset or heartburn due to many possible kinds of gastrointestinal problems. It could be simply due to a dietary indiscretion (eg eating vindaloo curry!!!), hiatus hernia (a weakness in the diaphragm which is the muscle separating your chest from your abdomen), gastro-oesophageal reflux (backflow of acid from the stomach into the foodpipe), etc.etc etc.
